Lake Norman may soon welcome another premier residential community. National homebuilder Mattamy Homes has submitted plans for Brillian Grove, a 34-acre development slated for a wooded peninsula off McCrary Road in Mooresville.
If approved, the project would introduce at least 77 homes, with prices starting around $500,000. The community would sit just off N.C. 150, across from the longtime landmark restaurant Big Daddy’s of Lake Norman.
The Rezoning Process
Mattamy Homes will present its proposal to the Mooresville Planning Board, which meets at 6 p.m. in Town Hall. While the Planning Board’s role is advisory, its recommendation will influence the Mooresville Board of Commissioners, who hold the final decision on rezoning.
No date has yet been scheduled for the commissioners’ review, but this next step will determine if Brillian Grove can move forward.
Why It Matters
-
Strong demand: Lake Norman remains one of the Charlotte region’s most sought-after addresses, blending lakefront lifestyle with proximity to major highways and city conveniences.
-
Limited land supply: Large wooded parcels on the water’s edge are increasingly rare, making Brillian Grove a significant opportunity.
-
Community growth: With home prices starting at $500,000, the development targets move-up buyers and newcomers drawn to Lake Norman’s lifestyle.
About the Builder

What’s Next for Brillian Grove
The upcoming Planning Board hearing is the first step in a process that could reshape part of the McCrary Road corridor. If commissioners ultimately grant approval, construction on Brillian Grove could begin soon after, adding a new layer to Mooresville’s rapidly evolving real estate market.
For now, all eyes are on Mooresville Town Hall, where the community’s future will be debated.
